ONLINE SUBMISSION OF THE RETURN OF CONTRIBUTION
FOR THE PERIOD ENDED 30.09.2011
ESI Corporation has introduced payment of contribution through system generated challans from December, 2010. In respect of the current contribution period ending September, 2011, most of the employers have paid ESI contribution through system generated challans. Such employers who have paid ESI contribution through system generated challans for all the six months need not submit return of contribution in hard copy. They can submit the return of contribution online through the ESIC portal (www.esic.in) by following the procedure given below on or before 11/11/2011
- Log-in in the Employer portal using your 17 digit Employer code as user id and the password given to you.
- Go to the monthly contribution section in the Home page, go to view RC and click.
- All the details of the contribution paid by the employer along with the wages details of the employees will be displayed.
- Please verify the details. If there is any short payment of contribution in respect of any employees for the period under reference, please generate supplementary challan by using the modify challan option under the monthly contribution section.
- If there are any payments to be made on omitted wages (not related to identified employees) please make payment of contribution on these amounts by creating miscellaneous challan.
- Then go to Self Certification under the monthly contribution section. Please check mark the declaration and click the submit button. If you are employing 40 or more employees, please upload Chartered Accounts certificate before clicking on the submit button.
By following the above steps, the Employer is deemed to have submitted the return of contribution for the above contribution period.
However, such of those employers who have not made payment through system generated challans for any of the months, they are required to submit the return of contribution in physical form to the concerned Branch Office on or before 11.11.2011 failing which, they are liable for prosecution.

ATTENTION EMPLOYERS REGISTERED UNDER ESI ACT, 1948.
LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF RETURN OF CONTRIBUTION – 12.5.2011
The last date for submission of the Return of Contribution under Regulation 26 of ESI Act, 1948 for the contribution period ended 31.3.2011 is 12.5.2011. Employers are requested to file duly filled in returns in Form 5 along with receipted copy of challans / system generated challans for the amount deposited in the bank with designated Branch Office and also to ensure that.-
- Each & every column of Contribution in Form 5, including 10 digit Insurance Numbers in Ascending Order with the name of the Dispensary to which the Insured Person is attached is properly filled in.
- Challans / photocopy of system generated challans paid for wage periods October, 2010 to March, 2011 are to be enclosed with the Return of Contribution as prescribed.
- A self declaration / self declaration along with a certificate from Charted Accountant is required to be given by the employer who has employed up to 40 / 40 and more employees, respectively.
- The employer has to furnish the details of wages and contribution in respect of disabled persons drawing wages up to Rs.25,000/- with effect from 1.4.2008 (vide amendment in Rule 50 & 54 and insertion of new Rule 51A in ESI Central Rules 1950) in a separate sheet along with the return of contribution marked “Disabled”. In the column against employer’s share of contribution in respect of such employees please write “To be paid by the Government of India”.
- Please furnish the Insurance Numbers in the Return in 10 digits.
Incomplete and defective Returns are liable to be rejected and will be treated as non-submission of Returns which will attract the penal provisions as laid down under the ESI Act, 1948.

Please ensure submission of Return of Contribution by due date i.e. 12.5.2011. Delay in submission of Return of Contribution will result in non-inclusion of your employees name in the live list maintained at ESI Dispensaries. |
